Santos have quickly come out to deny reports last night that suggested Barcelona have a pre-contract agreement to sign Neymar.
The Brazilian wunderkind was reported as being the player Barca allegedly list in their annual dossier as having paid an initial €10m deposit for this June, as part of a €40m ‘firm commitment’.
However, Santos have moved to deny any truth to the story, insisting instead that Neymar will honour his contract in Brazil.
“There are no negotiations under way, and the club highlights that the striker is under contract until 2014 and will fulfil that all the way,” read a statement posted on the club’s official website.
