Spanish Federation President Angel Maria Villar has given his backing to UEFA and FIFA heads Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter.
At an event in the northern city of Soria, the RFEF chief was asked if he had aimed to succeed either man, but insisted he is focused on Spanish football alone.
“Platini and Blatter should continue as Presidents if they want to, as they are doing very well.”
Blatter himself recently described Villar as his ideal successor.
Villar then lavished praise on Spanish internationals Xabi Hernandez and Iker Casillas, who have today received the 'Prince of Asturias' award for sport.
“They are very special, not only as players but as people. Spanish football is happy that these men distinguish theirselves on the field and off it.”
