Midfielder Markel Susaeta has signed a new contract with Athletic Bilbao, tying him to the Basque club until 2017.
The 24-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a deal that sees his buyout clause rise to €35m, according to a statement on the club's official website.
The former Spanish Under 21 international was a regular in Marcelo Bielsa's side last season, playing in every League game and scoring six goals.
Elbar-born Susaeta had been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months.
Tying down one of their best players will come as an enormous relief after a stressful summer of incessant transfer speculation for the San Mames club, who have sold Javi Martinez to Bayern Munich and frozen out Juventus target Fernando Llorente.
