Racing Santander winger Manuel Arana has joined Rayo Vallecano after his contract with the Cantabrians was rescinded.
Arana [pictured, left] becomes Rayo boss Paco Jemez’s second signing of the day following the earlier arrival of central defender Rodri from Spartak Moscow.
Sevilla-born Arana, 27, began his career with local club Real Betis in 2003, but never progressed beyond the B team with the Andalusians before moving to Castellon two years later.
After four years with the Valencian community club, where he appeared regularly in La Segunda, Arana penned a four-year deal with Racing and went on to make 73 La Liga appearances with Los Verdiblancos, scoring seven goals.
