Enzo Maresca is no longer a Malaga player, as Sampdoria wrap up a €2m transfer for the 32-year-old Italian.
Maresca has been widely expected in the past few days to be making the return to Serie A, having been left out of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans for Malaga’s previous two games and reported as being in the peninsula.
The former Under-21 international has now had his return to his native country confirmed this afternoon, via Sampdoria’s official website.
Maresca, who made 41 appearances for Malaga and scored four goals, will be presented to the Italian media on Saturday. He is understood to have signed a two-year contract, with Samp having paid a fee of €2m.
