Malaga are on the verge of tying up deals for Javier Saviola and Roque Santa Cruz, with the former already having passed a medical.
Reports in Portugal for the past few days have stated that the diminutive Argentine’s move from Benfica is all but complete, whilst in Spain they now believe he has concluded medical examinations and is hours away from confirmation.
Meanwhile, Santa Cruz, who last year was on loan at Real Betis, is reportedly set to also conclude his move to the Costa del Sol, in the form of another loan deal from Manchester City.
Betis were understood to have been back in for the Paraguayan, alongside Stoke City, but the player is said to have chosen Malaga for the Champions League football they can now guarantee.
