Arrigo Sacchi has cast an eye on a number of personnel changes in La Liga this year, but it’s looking hardest for Barcelona Coach Tito Vilanova.
The Italian veteran tactician believes Vilanova may struggle this term to succeed quite as Pep Guardiola before him did at the Camp Nou.
“Tito Vilanova, I like, but I think it will be difficult for him to repeat what Pep did. To come in after a Coach like Guardiola is very complex,” the former Real Madrid director of football commented to Esports COPE today.
Sacchi, however, was more optimistic on a number of new arrivals to the Spanish League, and on the future of young Spaniard Bojan Krkic, who transferred to Milan yesterday.
“I hope he does well in Milan – for him and the team. He began has one of the most exciting young players, then lost his way a little bit, so hopefully he will return to the right path.
“In Barcelona he struggled to adapt and therefore they sent him out on loan, because it wasn’t working out.
“I have confidence in him and I think he can do well at Milan.
“I love Luka Modric, he is a great signing for Real Madrid. He moves and he creates for his teammates. He is a modern player who I like a lot.
“Alex Song I also like. He is a very good player, but the club already has Mascherano and Busquets, so I don’t know…”
“Samuele Longo is still young, but he has the quality and speed to play very well on the counter-attack. He has mobility, but must learn to play with his teammates. I like him and he has a bright future.”
