Real Valladolid have confirmed the loan signing of Porto defender Henrique Sereno via the club’s official website.
The 27-year-old returns to the Jose Zorrilla after having played for Valladolid for five months during the 2009-10 season, having rescinded his contract with Vitoria Guimares and making 12 League appearances.
Valladolid describe the player as being ‘someone that stands out for always being well positioned’ and point out that as well as being a central defender he can also operate at right-back, a role he occupied on loan with Cologne last term.
Sereno, 27, began his career with hometown team Elvas and was transferred to Vitoria Guimares in 2005, where he remained for five years before joining Porto.
“I am delighted to have rejoined Valladolid and I should have come back sooner, even when the club was in La Segunda.
“However, I had a contract with Porto and it was not up to me,” said Sereno.
