Luis Garcia insisted his team were worthy winners after Getafe’s shock 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
“We fully deserved our win because we knew where we could do them damage and we were right.
“In the first half it was normal we were losing because we lacked aggression. We did well afterwards, however, but I had to ask the players to be more convincing,” the Getafe boss admitted at a Press conference.
“Now we have to be calm. These are three important points with the fixture list we have, but it is only the beginning.”
Garcia maintained he was particularly happy that one of the goals came from a set piece.
“We work hard at them as we have people who can deliver the ball well and also have height.
“We spend a lot of time on these and when you see the results it makes you happy,” he explained, before saying he did not wish to comment on Jose Mourinho’s claim that Getafe deserved their victory.
“Mourinho does what he has to do and it’s not for me to judge. Anyone can say what they want but my team fought hard and played well,” he concluded.
