Barcelona defender Gerard Pique says he remains confident ahead of the Supercopa de Espana return leg against Real Madrid.
The Catalans hold a slender 3-2 advantage going into next week’s decisive clash at the Santiago Bernabeu yet Pique, who was one of the stars of Thursday night’s game in the Camp Nou, remains optimistic.
“The feelings are very good and we are proud of how we played and what we have done,” Pique told Sport.
“On some occasions you need to create plenty of opportunities to score a goal and they took the two chances they had, but I think we deserved more.
“Even so, it’s better to go to Madrid with a 3-2 lead [rather than a defeat] so it will be very tense. But if we play like we did here than we have a great chance.”
The Spanish international also admitted he was happy with his own personal performance.
“Last year I had to take a lot of rubbish but this season I think I’ve started by playing well,” he maintained.
