Mesut Ozil, Marcelo and David Villa are all available for selection for Thursday’s Supercopa de Espana first leg between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The trio were all sent off in the second leg of 2011’s edition of the tournament, with Marcelo’s late tackle on Cesc Fabregas sparking a touchline brawl involved Jose Mourinho and then Barcelona assistant Coach Tito Vilanova.
However, following on from Mourinho and Vilanova having their bans lifted by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) as an act of clemency earlier this summer, the three players have also seen their suspensions wiped.
It is part of tradition when elected President of the RFEF begins a new term in office that they forgive minor misdemeanours from the previous season, and the clashes from last season's Super Cup Clasico encounters have all been classifed as such.
