Osasuna may have lost their opening game of the season at Deportivo, but Sisi believes it isn’t impossible for them to beat Barcelona in Week 2.
Sisinio ‘Sisi’ Gonzalez is a summer recruitment from Real Valladolid and made his first start for his new club in their 2-0 reverse at Depor this weekend.
However, it hasn’t dampened determination going into the second weekend, where the side welcome Barcelona on Saturday evening.
“We did things wrong against Deportivo. We just have to work every day, more, look at the details and that with Barcelona next up, we have to play a very very good game in order to win,” the 26-year-old decalred today.
“If Barcelona are at their level then they are hard to beat, but it is not impossible. Last season they came here in good form and Osasuna beat them, with the right conditions on the field.
“We will trust in ourselves and in the stadium and will run a lot, work hard and hope that we are good in front of goal.
“You have to seize your chances against Barca, but they also know it is a game where they have to concentrate to leave with any points.”
The winger also reflected on his Coach Jose Luis Mendilibar’s instruction to him to play a more vertical style of play for the team.
“He asked me a bit about that yesterday, yes. I’m not a Lionel Messi or anything, but I’m happier doing that than in pre-season. [The Coach] has told me what I need to improve on.”
