Iago Aspas cannot believe that his Celta Vigo side lost at home to Malaga yesterday, but takes the positives from the experience.
The Galicians went down 1-0 on their own turf to Manuel Pellegrini’s team, but had more of the chances and only had poor finishing to blame for not securing a draw at the death.
“When you lose then you go home a little bitter about the effort that you had made,” 25-year-old forward Aspas told reporters today.
“The team was competitive and were worthy against a great team who we must not forget at in the Champions League.
“We lacked the ability to convert the chances that we had. Malaga had three or four and scored one, while we had six or seven and did not score any.
“Today it hurts for how the loss happened. We saw that a Champions League team was not superior to us and eventually they still took the three points.
“The good news is that we are true to ourselves and this is a lesson to take into the future.”
