Luis Garcia is pleased with Getafe’s efforts tonight at Sevilla, but left a hint to his President about transfer reinforcements.
The Madrid side fell to a 2-1 defeat in their Week 1 trip south, but Garcia was philosophical in retracing the game.
“We could have equalled them for goals tonight and it was a shame that they scored so rapidly because we had a bad spell and at 2-0 our morale suffered a slump,” he reflected post-match.
“However, in the second half we had three chances, one for Miku, another for the goal and then a header. We could have equalised, but what counts are the goals.
“I’m not upset with the team because it is tough to play at Sevilla’s ground. I think the team is on the right track to correct the things that are currently missing, but this is football and we have to congratulate Sevilla for the win.
“We must be calm now and try to train with what we have. The club knows my opinion [about reinforcements].”
