According to Sport, Luka Modric has signed for Real Madrid despite lack of confirmation from the club.
A report in the newspaper maintains that Los Blancos have agreed to pay €32m for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder plus another €5m in add-ons.
The 26-year-old is understood to be travelling to Madrid on Wednesday for a medical and he will then be officially presented as a Real Madrid player.
The Spanish giants have had to gradually increase their offer over the summer months for the Croatian international after the London club’s refusal to sell.
Sport maintains that Spurs are also unhappy with the way in which Madrid have conducted business, claiming an agreement was reached before the end of last season for Modric to sign a five-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The player subsequently refused to attend pre-season training with his club and is believed to have told Coach Andre Villas-Boas that he was not willing to play for the club as the Premier League gets underway this weekend.
