Malaga midfielder Duda has advised compatriot Eliseu that the best thing he can do is to leave Los Blanquiazules and sign for Benfica.
Eliseu has been linked with a move to the Eagles over the summer and only this week admitted that he would like a return to his native country.
In comments made to O Jogo from Athens, where Duda is taking part Malaga’s pre-season preparations with a game against Olympiacos, the Portuguese international said he believed now was the right time for Eliseu to take a step forward in his career.
“This is the ideal moment for him. Despite everything he has done, he needs to further his career because he deserves it,” declared Duda, who is a personal friend of the Azores-born 28-year-old.
“He is quite relaxed about it. Besides being an experienced player he does not feel the pressure.
“If Benfica are really interested then he is ready to leave. Two months ago it would have been difficult for Eliseu to leave Malaga.
“At the moment, however, negotiations are possible due to the financial situation at the club,” he concluded.
