Afellay could leave Barca says agent

Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay could still exit the club before the start of next season, according to his agent.

Reports in the Italian media quote Rob Jansen as saying there is still a small possibility of the Dutch international departing the Camp Nou.

“Yes, the chance he could go is still on the table. It could be that he goes out on loan just for next season,” admitted Jansen.

Inter were one of the clubs believed to have been interested in the 26-year-old at the start of the summer and Arsenal have also asked about him, although if did leave the Catalans then his preferred destination is thought to be Italy.

Afellay started just one La Liga game last year after a season that was disrupted by a serious knee injury and Barca boss Tito Vilanova has insisted on more than one occasion that he wants him to stay.

However, Afellay is aware his first-team chances may once again be limited and he is prepared to listen to offers so long as he can return to Barcelona for the 2013-14 campaign.
