Roma left-back Jose Angel is set to join Real Sociedad on a season-long loan, reports Diario Vasco.
The player’s agent Alfredo Martinez confirmed that negotiations for the 22-year-old are at an advanced stage and that the Txuri-urdin will have an option to buy the player at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
Jose Angel signed for the Serie A side in a €4.5m deal from Sporting Gijon last summer, yet despite making 27 League appearances last term it appears he does not figure on boss Zdenek Zeman’s plans for next season.
It is understood the player has not adapted to life in Italy and has hankered after a move back to his native country for some months, particularly since compatriot Luis Enrique left his job as Head Coach at the Stadio Olimpico at the end of the 2011-12 campaign.
He becomes the Basque’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Chori Castro from Real Mallorca and Arsenal’s Carlos Vela.
