Real Mallorca are looking at Arsenal centre-back Johan Djourou as they attempt to fill the gap left by Ivan Ramis.
Ramis finally made his long-drawn-out move to the Premier League this week when he joined Wigan Athletic and Mallorca boss Joaquin Caparros is eyeing the Gunners player as his replacement.
The Ivory Coast-born Swiss international has been with the London club since he was 16 yet has consistently struggled to hold down a place in Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up, with only 14 first-team starts made last season.
A report in Marca claims the 25-year-old was left out of Arsenal’s friendly with West Bromwich Albion this week after becoming aware of Mallorca’s interest, with the Islanders understood to be ready to move quickly to bring him in before the start of the new La Liga season.
The Balearic club are believed to have made Arsenal an undisclosed offer although they may have to increase it, but the ball is now firmly in their court.
