Valencia's search for a left-back to replace Jordi Alba could be down to a straight fight for either Guilherme Siqueira or Jose Angel.
Los Che boss Mauricio Pellegrino has only one recognised left-hand sided player in his squad in Jeremy Mathieu and, while Granada’s Siqueira is his first choice, Roma’s former Sporting Gijon man Jose Angel is on the radar should Valencia fail to lure the Brazilian away from Los Carmenes.
However, Superdeporte reports that Valencia President Manuel Llorente is unwilling to pay the €6m demanded by Granada for 50 per cent of Siqueira’s rights – although he has tempted the player with the offer of a two-year contract – and if the Andalusians refuse to budge then Jose Angel could well find himself on his way back to Spain following his Є4.5m move to the Serie A club last summer.
Jose Angel’s agent Alfredo Martinez believes Roma will not accept sending the Spanish Under-21 international out on loan, while they may be prepared to listen to offers of around €6m for the 22-year-old.
