The Daily Mirror reports that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to pay €18m for Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez.
News Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is looking to give his forward line a complete overhaul and fancies Lopez to replace England international Jermaine Defoe at White Hart Lane and link up with Manchester City’s Emmanuel Adebayor, who they are expected to sign in a cut-price deal this weekend.
However, the Spaniards are in no mood to break up their own attack, which sees Lopez partner Colombian hitman Radamel Falcao up front, and are extremely reluctant to let the 24-year-old leave the Vicente Calderon after an impressive first season following his signing from Deportivo de La Coruna last summer.
Reports in Spain also indicate that Atleti are unhappy with the manner in which Spurs have made their interest in the player known, and are even considering reporting the Premier League club to FIFA along with the his agent Eugenio Botas.
