Former Sevilla midfielder Samir Nasri is set to be banned from football for six months following a Spanish Anti-Doping investigation.
The Frenchman used a drip treatment he took at a Los Angeles clinic in 2016 while on holiday, with the treatment contravening World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) rules.
Reports in Marca suggest the ban, to be imposed by UEFA, will be made official on Monday and will rule the 30-year-old out of football activities until August.
Nasri reportedly received treatment from Drip Doctos – a private medical company – in his hotel room, and posed for a photograph with the organisation's co-founder Jamila Sozahdah.
Wada rules clarify the limit for active athletes is a 50 mililitre infusion of hydration, but the Frenchman’s treatment was allegedly 500 mililitres.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder departed Turkish side Antalyaspor in January, having starred for Sevilla in a loan stint last season, and had been linked with a move to Las Palmas as a free agent.
