Real Oviedo have parted company with Coach Fernando Hierro after the club missed out on a promotion playoff spot.
The 49-year-old was handed a one-year deal last summer with the option to extend that by a further season should both parties wish to although a mutual agreement has been reached for his departure.
Oviedo missed out on a top six finish and a chance of promotion to the top flight on the final day, ensuring the legendary former Real Madrid and Spain player missed out on his objective.
The Asturians finished 8th in the standings, two points off the playoffs, after aiming to return to the top flight of Spanish football for the first time in 16 years.
