Asier Illarramend and Gerard Deulofeu have been included in the Spain squad for clashes with Israel and France, alongside the returning Pedro Rodriguez.
Real Sociedad star Illarramendi receives his first ever call-up to the national team, while Deulofeu – on loan at Milan from Everton – is a surprise inclusion, it being his first in three years.
Chelsea duo Diego Costa and Pedro have also been restored to the squad, although somewhat surprisingly their teammate Marcos Alonso has not made it, with Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal preferred.
Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera and Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas keep their places, although Juan Mata, Sergi Roberto and Lucas Vazquez drop out.
Neither is there room for Atletico Madrid pair Juanfran Torres and Saul Niguez.
