Liverpool could be about to trump Premier League rivals Arsenal and take Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia with Luis Alberto going the other way.
Cadena SER reports talks between the Reds and Los Che over Germany international Mustafi, who has in recent weeks been the subject of interest from Arsene Wenger’s side.
Valencia want €30m for Mustafi while Liverpool value Alberto, who was on loan last season at Deportivo La Coruna, at €6m, with both Liverpool and Arsenal looking for an agreement with Valencia as they’re reluctant to meet the centre-back’s price tag.
The inclusion of Alberto in the offer hasn’t thus far tempted Valencia into lowering the fee for Mustafi because the forward’s contract expires next summer and he could negotiate as a free agent in January.
