Espanyol and Quique Sanchez Flores have come to an agreement and he could be announced as Constantin Galca’s replacement on Thursday.
Sport reports terms have been settled between Sanchez Flores, latterly of Watford, and Los Periquitos, who dispensed with Galca at the end of the season, and an announcement is considered imminent.
Sanchez Flores had been in the mix for the soon-to-be-available Sevilla post, with Unai Emery going to Paris Saint-Germain, but he has had a preliminary agreement with Espanyol since the end of May and a two-year deal with an option for a third has been reached.
Sport don’t make mention of the terms of Sanchez Flores’ deal but AS say in a report on Sevilla’s situation that Espanyol’s offer was higher than that of Los Rojiblancos, and would make Sanchez Flores the highest-paid Coach in club history at €1.8m-per-year.
