Barca not replacing Pedro

Barcelona won’t make any move in the transfer market to replace Pedro Rodriguez as Luis Enrique has faith in Sandro Ramirez and Munir El Haddadi.

It had been speculated that the club could sign a forward now for use in January, when they would be able to register the new signing after the FIFA-imposed transfer embargo expires.

Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan, signed respectively from Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, will be added to Enrique’s squad then but, barring any major injuries, they’ll be the only ones.

Nolito has been regularly linked with Barca and has said he would be open to returning to Camp Nou after coming through La Masia, but Barca are reluctant to pay the €18m clause in his Celta Vigo contract.

Andriy Yarmolenko, the Ukraine international on the books at Dynamo Kiev, is another name mentioned as a player Barca would, if needed, target.

Nolito and Yarmolenko are the only players considered as replacements for Pedro, but first Sandro and Munir will be the ones given an opportunity.

The youngsters will get the four months between now and January to prove they can step into the first team should there be an absence for one of Neymar, Luis Suarez or Lionel Messi.

Enrique believes in both of them and only injuries or the pair struggling to make an impact will convince Barca to sign a forward in January, particularly as both Vidal and Turan can be used in attacking roles.
