Atletico Madrid have rejected a €28m bid from Manchester United for goalkeeper Jan Oblak, according to reports.
AS and the Daily Mirror claim the Red Devils have identified the Slovenia international as the ideal replacement for David de Gea, in the event that the 24-year-old joins Real Madrid, but have seen their first offer knocked back.
Atleti are understood to have made it clear that they will not enter negotiations with United, unless they meet the former Benfica shot-stopper’s release clause of €40m.
Oblak spent the first half of last season as Miguel Angel Moya’s deputy but eventually established himself as the club’s No 1 following an injury to his rival.
