Mario Mandzukic is eager to remain with Atletico Madrid despite the club actively searching for a replacement for his services.
Atletico have pursued the likes of Luciano Vietto and Carlos Tevez, and one report lists various options for the club as the chance of signing Tevez disappears.
But Manzukic’s agent has spoken of the striker’s desire to stay at Vicente Calderon, particularly as he is only a year into a four-year contract.
“Mario has just completed the first of his four years so I see no reason why people talk of a possible exit,” Ivan Cvjetkovic is quoted as saying by AS.
Atletico, however, are listening to offers for the former Bayern Munich man, and want in the region of €20m to let him go.
Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund have been mentioned as possible destinations and the latter would become more likely if Ciro Immobile was sold.
There is also interest from Juventus as Tevez looks like quitting the club and Fernando Llorente could do likewise. Mandzukic is Juventus’ second choice, behind Edinson Cavani.
Premier League interest comes from Liverpool and Manchester United, it’s reported.
