Lucas Silva could get his first Real Madrid start when Los Blancos resume the defence of their Champions League crown, against Schalke.
Madrid travel to Germany on Wednesday and it’s suggested by AS that Silva, who on Saturday made his first appearance for the club as late substitute against Deportivo La Coruna, could enter the starting XI.
Silva, 22 on Monday, would replace Asier Illarramendi in Carlo Ancelotti’s side, forming a midfield three with Toni Kroos and Isco.
The former Cruzeiro player hasn’t started a match since a December 7 fixture with his old club but has spoken excitedly about the Champions League.
Illarra, meanwhile, has struggled to maintain the faith of the Coach since last season’s Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund, when he was replaced at half-time.
