Newcastle United are the latest club to have joined the chase to sign Celta Vigo winger Michael Krohn-Dehli.
A report in Danish newspaper BT claims the 31-year-old could be the subject of a move to take him to the Premier League either in the January transfer window or in the summer.
Both Villarreal and Sevilla have shown interest in the Danish international, with the Yellow Submarine having emerged as favourites for his signature as they seek a replacement for Cani, who has joined Atletico Madrid on loan.
Although no fee has been discussed, the Spanish pair are expected to table bids for him shortly, but Newcastle are monitoring his situation at Balaidos and have asked to be kept informed of any developments.
In the meantime, Celta are hoping Krohn-Dehli will pen a new deal with them as his existing agreement is due to expire in June, while the player himself is believed to favour a move to El Madrigal.
The 31-year-old, who has played in all Celta’s La Liga games this season but is yet to find the back of the net, joined the club from Brondby in August 2012 for a reported €1m.
