Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
The defender called a Press conference this afternoon to reveal that his persistent injury issues mean he will end his time with the side in the summer.
The centre-back made his debut for the Camp Nou outfit in 1999, and has gone on to play nearly 400 League games for the club.
The 35-year-old has won six Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and three Champions Leagues in his time with the Catalan giants.
“I am here to announce I am leaving Barcelona at the end of the season. After two knee operations, I cannot perform as I wish,” he told reporters.
“I do not know what I will do after June 30. I will need to rest and think. We will see then.”
