A report in Spain speculates that Barcelona have discussed the possibility of making a move for Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas.
The Madrid and Spain captain has focused attention this week in failing to make Carlo Ancelotti’s first official line-up, benched in favour of Diego Lopez.
Speculation from Cuatro program ‘Tiki-Taka’ is that this has alerted rivals Barca to his possible availability.
The outlet alleges that President Sandro Rosell, sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and Vice-President Javier Faus have met in recent days to discuss the possibility of making a move for the 32-year-old.
Apparently the trio, who are in the market for a replacement for Victor Valdes when he departs next summer, ‘want to try to convince Casillas to come to Barca’.
Casillas, whose Madrid contract runs through to June 2017, has also been linked this week with interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.
