Newell’s Old Boys Coach Gerardo Martino is reportedly Malaga’s first choice to replace the departing Manuel Pellegrini.
On from Pellegrini confirming this week that he and his coaching staff will be leaving La Rosaleda in the summer, the Anchovies’ plans for his replacement have emerged.
Reports are that the club have sent out two delegates to Argentina to negotiate with the 50-year-old.
Martino, who has hinted at a desire to one day coach in Europe, has indicated that his intention is to stay with Newell’s until at least the end of their Copa Libertadores campaign, which could run until late July.
