Atletico Madrid still have work to do on Julian Alvarez side to strike deal with Manchester City – Matteo Moretto

Atletico Madrid are making big moves this summer, with Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth already through the door, and Conor Gallagher set to follow them. However they could sign Julian Alvarez from Manchester City, their window would take on a different dimension, with their biggest coup since the arrival of Joao Felix.

Alvarez, 24, has been frustrated by his inability to break into the starting line-up at Manchester City, and is currently in talks with Atletico over a move. If Alvarez is to move on from City, then Los Rojiblancos are his priority, but they are yet to reach an agreement with him over personal terms. Alvarez’s wages at City are very high, and Matteo Moretto has told Football España that Atletico will have to make a major effort to reach an understanding with the World Cup-winner.

That isn’t the only agreement yet to be found either. Atletico still need to agree a fee with Manchester City, with reports earlier in the summer claiming Manchester City would want at least €70m rising to €90m for Alvarez. Equally, it is believed they must strike a deal with Chelsea for Samu Omorodion in order to have the funds to bring in Alvarez.
