Barcelona stalwart makes his feelings clear on future amid reports of possible summer exit

Because of their well-documented financial problems, Barcelona will be required to make at least one significant sale this summer in order to bring some balance to their books. The number of departures will be determined by how many signings Deco and the next manager want to make, so it’s entirely plausible that multiple big names leave.

Ronald Araujo has been one of those whose future has been widely discussed in the last few months. Bayern Munich previously showed a strong interest in the Uruguayan defender during the winter, and while things have cooled down now, it could re-ignite in the coming months. Further to this, there are clubs in the Premier League that are keen.

Amid reports that his situation at Barcelona is far from straightforward, Araujo has told the media on Friday that he is content in Catalonia, as per Sport.

“There’s been a lot of talk about this issue, but I’m happy in Barcelona. In addition, we have to finish the season well because there are still challenges, also with Uruguay with the Copa America.”

There could be many twists and turns in this situation over the coming weeks and months. Barcelona do not want to lose Araujo under any circumstances, and for now at least, there looks to be a mutual understanding for both parties to continue as one.
